Wastewater Turns to Raw Material

Dow's Benelux site in Terneuzen is taking the local communitys treated wastewater, which is discharged directly into the river, and reusing it twice first in manufacturing plants and then again in cooling towers before releasing it into the atmosphere as vapor. This is the first time within the industry that municipal wastewater is being reused on such a large scale.

Seaswarm to Clear out Oil


When an oil spill occurs, the challenge is clearing out of the oil fast and secure. Seaswarm is a possible solution to this dilemma. Robotic cleaning instruments absorb the oil and move independently and autonomously. They can communicate between them and coordinate their actions.
