Water Research Conference 2010

  10/11/2009
The deadline for submitting abstracts to the Water Research Conference, to be held on 11–14 April 2010 in Lisbon, Portugal, is just a few days away. Since microbiology is one of the major scientific disciplines contributing to the field of water research, the conference will enable exchange and interaction between microbiological research and its application: the provision of clean water to society.

The conference will address two major topics: (1) the shifting paradigms in the assessment of recreational water quality and (2) microbial ecology of drinking water and wastewater treatment processes. Presentations will consist of the latest research achievements as well as more general conceptual papers on the role of microbiology in water research.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 15th November 2009. Oral and poster abstracts are invited on relevant topics, and must be submitted using the online abstract submission system. All abstracts will be refereed and a criterion of rejection will be lack of originality.

The Water Research Conference 2010 will be taking place at the Marriott Lisbon, in the capital and largest city of Portugal. The Marriott Lisbon hotel is a stunning 4 star hotel located close to the airport and city center, providing good transport links across Portugal and the rest of Europe.
