EWP Events During Water Week

The European Water Partnership is hosting several events during the World Water Week in Stockholm. Delegates are welcome to visit and participate the discussions.
 

 

The UN Watercourses Convention: What is in it for European Countries? Is a side-event on Monday 17th August 17.45 - 18.45 in room T4. It will follow up on the commitments made during the 5th World Water Forum.

 

Harmonised Guidelines for Sustainable Water Management includes a presentation of the EWP approach for water stewardship in Europe. Tools creating incentives for good water management and guidelines for assessment and communications will be discussed. Tuesday, 18th August, 12.45 - 13.45 in room K11, lunch provided.

 

Focus Water and Climate - water energy and climate change are linked. EWP is looking for a holistic way to address the three. This session includes presentations by leading companies that started working with these issues for the reason of business sense. This session is to be held on Thursday 20th August, 12.45 - 13.45 in room K2.

 

The European Water Partnership will be represented by vice chairman Friedrich Barth, project managers Sabine van Wirén-Lehr, Harro Riedstra and Lucilla Minelli.

Columbia Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

John Dooley, director of utilities and engineering for the City of Columbia (US), talks about a USD40 million project for the city's Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant. The capacity will increase to 150 million gallons/day (now 80 million gallons), and the pumping facility is to be relocated on the property. Requests for quotes are being prepared to be published soon.
