Water and Wastewater Modelling Research

  05/08/2009
BHR Group held the first Open Day event to promote the 7th phase of their Water and Wastewater Modelling (WWM) research programme. Consisting of a series of presentations, break-out sessions, consultations and exhibition stands it was attended by a range of senior industry stakeholders including Water companies, major equipment manufacturers, academic institutions, commercial associations, consultants and contractors.

Animated discussions in the exhibition area

Focusing on a variety of topics from the potable, sludge, wastewater, mixing and pumping arenas, presentations highlighted how the 40+ man-years of focused research and numerous deliverables produced in previous phases are being actively applied in real world situations. Particular attention was paid to showcasing the groundbreaking Sludge Rheology Database (SRDB) and System Losses Tool (SLOT) together with presentation of the advantages and benefits to be gained from being part of the next phase of the Programme due to kick-off in October 2009. Technical presentations were backed up with breakout sessions on particular topics and augmented by one-to-one consultations on specific applications with the relevant BHR Group experts.

Together with Q&A sessions, a lab-tour and ample networking opportunities, the day was very successful with a number of delegates requesting details of any future BHR Group events.

Yolande Herbath, Director of BHR Group's Water, Environment and Power division said the company was "very pleased with the breadth and level of participation in the event and would like to thank all the delegates and staff involved in making it such a success".

Further details, including the presentations and a video, can be obtained through the BHR Group website.
