| Danish Water Forum (DWF), Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Mekong River Commission and DHI Water and Environment are organising a seminar about transboundary water cooperation during the World Water Week in Stockholm, to be held from 16th to 22nd August 2009. |

The seminar will address lessons learned and key challenges in transboundary water cooperation. Presentations and discussions of results of workshops and studies on lessons learned from the three basins and other basins will seeks to identify good practices for basin management for increased national commitment and civil society participation, climate adaptation, human security and exploring economic opportunities.
The seminar will discuss challenges common to all basins and identify how sharing of good practice and lessons learned could be further strengthened and expanded. The seminar will also discuss how the Transboundary Water Cooperation initiated by DWF and Danida in Mekong, the Nile and SADC/Zambezi may be widened to cover other basins and include other partners.
The seminar on 18th August 2009 from 14.00 is to be chaired by Dr. Kurt Mørch Jensen, Danida and Dr. Palle Lindgaard-Jørgensen, Danish Water Forum. Co-chairs are Mr. Jeremy Bird, CEO, Mekong River Commission Secretariat and Dr. Celicia Scharp, Sida
