| Czech Flood Protection Association organises a big international conference Flood Control Principles in the World. It will be the largest meeting of flood control managers of the year, focused on the practical experience and concrete flood control measures. That was the reason, why we choose several cities from all around the world, typical for their flood risk management. |

The conference participants will meet the flood control system of cities such as New Orleans, Winnipeg, London, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Venice, St. Petersburg, Dresden or Prague an Ústí nad Labem (Czech Republic). The US National Flood Risk Management Program as well as the last EU flood control directive will be introduced here. Regarding the Czech hundreds of years of experience with flood fighting, there will be also lot of Czech experts presenting their flood risk management methods.
The speakers will be the best experts in water management, hydraulic engineering, crisis management but also representatives of involved ministries and local government. The conference Flood Control Principles in the World 2009 will take place at the Exhibition Centre in Brno, Czech Republic, 26th to 28th May 2009. It is a part of the flood control trade fair Flood Protection Brno 2009. Both the conference and the trade fair are on the list of official events of the Czech Presidency to the EU.
