Solving Water Problems in the South

Wataf organises a congress on Applicable Water Technology in the South on 7th and 8th April 2009. This congress will take place in Ahoy' in Rotterdam will look at solutions for the water-problems we are facing now and the coming decades.
 

 

In plenary sessions, the use of seawater and the ecological problems, the use of atmospheric water, the fossil water and renewable groundwater will be studied. The workshops will teach more about technical solutions.

Columbia Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

John Dooley, director of utilities and engineering for the City of Columbia (US), talks about a USD40 million project for the city's Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant. The capacity will increase to 150 million gallons/day (now 80 million gallons), and the pumping facility is to be relocated on the property. Requests for quotes are being prepared to be published soon.
