California Declares State of Emergency due to Drought

  04/03/2009
On February 27, 2009 California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency due to drought for California. This unprecedented declaration follows three consecutive years of drought brought on by rainfall and snowpack deficits.

The State of Emergency Proclamation provides shocking information... "Lake Oroville 70 percent below capacity, Shasta Lake 66 percent below capacity, Folsom Lake 72 percent below capacity, and San Luis Reservoir 64 percent below capacity." The severity of California's drought requires immediate action and water efficiency will certainly be a big part of the solution.
