Women for Water Partnership Strategic Partner of Aquawareness

During the final workshop on the Water Vision for Europe, which took place on 4 February 2009 in Brussels, hosted by WWF EPO, Ms. Alice Bouman, President of the Women for Water Partnership, stated "that the new alliance between our partnerships will link long standing grassroots experience with public and private sectors on European level, thus enabling the exchange between bottom up and top down approaches".
 

Women for Water Partnership with EWP

Mr. Tom Vereijken, Chairman of EWP, welcomed the new strategic partner, underlining the importance of working in these new partnerships which will accelerate action towards sustainable water management in Europe and therefore accelerate the implementation of the Vision aims.

 

The outcomes of the Western Europe regional as well as of the final workshop will be available on the website of the European Water Partnership in the coming days.

Columbia Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

John Dooley, director of utilities and engineering for the City of Columbia (US), talks about a USD40 million project for the city's Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant. The capacity will increase to 150 million gallons/day (now 80 million gallons), and the pumping facility is to be relocated on the property. Requests for quotes are being prepared to be published soon.
