Resource Recovery - Not Wastewater Treatment

  08/01/2009
Wastewater treatment has remained largely unchanged for nearly 100 years and it is time for the UK Water Industry to raise another revolution and move from wastewater treatment to resource recovery. As wastewater contains many valuable assets, namely; water, energy (from methane and hydrogen), nitrogen and phosphorus.

If these resources could be recovered economcially it would make our wastewater treatment not only more sustainable but also more carbon neutral. This conference will consider what could be achieved from resource recovery, examine those options presently available to deliver on this and what is required to make the whole recovery process more viable. The conference takes place on 22nd January 2009 at The Geological Society, London (UK).
