The publication recognised Dr. Walski in its 50th Anniversary Special Edition 1961-2011 as an industry icon and leader for his many significant contributions to the field of hydraulic modelling and analysis. |

As the article in Water & Wastes Digest states, Dr. Walski, co-holder of three patents in the area of hydraulic analysis, has been called the father of commercial water distribution modeling. His research has resulted in significant savings in water loss, energy, project hours, and design costs.
At Bentley, Dr. Walski has been at the forefront of numerous technology software developments in hydraulics and hydrology, including the company's recently released Pipe Renewal Planner module for WaterGEMS and WaterCAD. Pipe Renewal Planner is a decision support tool that provides water utility owner-operators with quantifiable and reproducible best practices for optimising the replacement and rehabilitation of distribution network pipes.
Dr. Walski's achievements throughout his distinguished academic and industry career also include authoring and co-authoring more than 75 peer-reviewed journal papers and technical notes and 140 conference papers. He is also the author or contributing author of more than 25 reference books.
