Annual Research Forum Features Water Quality Industry Superstars

Among the "superstars" of the water quality industry that will be presenting on December 6 are two past winners of the Paul L. Busch Award - Nancy Love of the University of Michigan, and Kartik Chandran, of Columbia University. Love will be speaking on one of the novel treatment technologies her team is researching that tests ultraviolet light use in wastewater treatment. Chandran will explain recent research findings related to greenhouse gas emissions from wastewater treatment plants.

Other highlights of the event include presentations by US EPA infrastructure expert Steve Albee, US EPA stormwater expert Holly Galavotti, and renowned Virginia Tech professor John Novak. Albee and Galavotti will address two water quality issues that are in great debate at the national and local level - infrastructure and stormwater. Novak is presenting on novel treatment processes for removal of emerging contaminants. An issue that is of great importance as the world continues to improve its capability to detect contaminants at lower and lower levels.

The keynote speaker is David Henderson, founder and Managing Director of XPV Capital Corporation, one of the largest venture and growth equity firms in the world solely dedicated to investing in high growth water companies. David's focus is on identifying and investing in companies capitalizing on the significant opportunities created by the new water economy.
