  17/08/2011
CanVis is a visualisation program used to "see" potential impacts from coastal development or sea level rise. Users can download background pictures and insert the objects (hotel, house, marina, or other objects) of their choosing. The software is used by municipalities to brainstorm new ideas and policies, undertake project planning, and make presentations.

CanVis application

The application has a broad range of usability. It can show the impact of wetlands management, the influence of construction works (from jetties in a river or marina to apartment buildings) and planning, give an impression of the impact of offshore windmill farms. The application can be downloaded and used without cost.
