Successful Aquatech China 2011

  20/07/2011
The organisers of the fourth edition of Aquatech China 2011, held from 1st June up to and including 3rd June 2011, are speaking of a great success. Compared to the last edition, the show grew by 15% and featured more than 761 exhibitors were showing their latest products, services and technologies. With over 24,612 visits from the national and international water world, the show has strengthened its position as the largest and most important water technology show in South East Asia.

This year the show had special attention for the waste water industry. To emphasise this, the show organisers created the Best Waste Water Solution Contest. An expert panel of judges selected a number of products to be nominated and water professionals in China were invited to vote for the best solution. The Award for the Best Waste Water Solution went to ITT for the Flygt Adaptive Impeller. Veolia Water won first prize in the Innovation Contest, for their MBBR.

The event was strongly supported by the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other organisations. The show was characterised by almost 32.000m2 of floor space and of the exhibitors at least 50% came from overseas. All international and national market leaders of the water industry were participating, such as: Norit, GE Water, HaloPure, Philips, Membrana, IMT, DOW, ITT, Pentair.

Exhibitors were very satisfied with Aquatech China. Ho Jae Lee of Danfoss: "Aquatech China was even better organised this year and stands for a well known exhibition. It represents a big market field in which water partners come and share new ideas and products. The show was very helpful for our business". The focus on different industry segments was appreciated by Angie Park of DM Bio Co. Ltd: "We participated in Aquatech China and our main goal was to promote our healthcare products. We found many potential buyers and we will surely join again next year". Dominik Straetling of Boerger Pumps said: "It was the first time for us to participate in Aquatech China. The show exceeded our expectations and we plan to be  there again next year."

Aquatech China added value through the comprehensive educational programme. This year, delegates discussed the future challenges of the Chinese water market during the IWA Conference. Next to that, the Integrated Conference premiered at Aquatech China 2011 with a great attendance. This event has demonstrated the ability of the global water sector to meet the challenges in both the 'small water cycle': projects by utilities, industry and cities, as well as in the 'big water cycle' - projects in river basins, watersheds and even at national level. It had been a unique exposition for water authorities, developers, consultants, engineers, and contractors to draw the world's attention to their contribution bringing the global water problems one step closer to a solution.

With satisfied exhibitors, successful conferences, the outstanding quality of the educational programme and many visitors, the 5th edition of Aquatech China has to move to a bigger location to allow for growth. In 2012 the show will be situated at the World Expo Center in Shanghai, with a focus on water solutions. This new venue will be available for the event from 6th to 8th June 2012.
