The subsequent get-together provides an opportunity to intensify contacts and discussions. |

Stefan Girod, managing director of GWP, explains that in Russia the relevance of the resource water as well as environmental protection and water pollution control are trickling more and more into political and social consciousness. Russian ministries and professional associations will hold lectures at the Russion Day taking as its heading „Pure Water“. German companies attempt to find answers to the question how know-how, technology and experience from the broad range of the water sector can help to advance Russian water management and which cooperations and financing models might be suitable.”
The expansion of water supply and waste water disposal in the Russian Federation are the main tasks of the federal object program „Pure Water“. Until 2020 numerous important projects aiming at improving water infrastructure ought to be finished strategically by means of this program. The program entails an investment volume of several billion Euro.
Representatives from politics and industry and German experts will discuss issues like skills shortages, financing problems and legal frameworks. Furthermore Russian and German experts will present specific German-Russian projects and show possible prospects of future cooperations. Meanwhile, under the roof of German Water Partnership there are more than 300 members from the broad range of the water sector bundling their knowledge and their experience to offer German know-how and innovative technologies internationally. Water experts from industry and research joined forces in the Regional Section Russia which is one of 17 international regional work groups within the GWP network. The regional sections’ objectives are to establish and to maintain contacts, kick off projects and work out custom-tailored solutions in water management considering the characteristics of the country in focus.
At a 300 m2 GWP joint booth, together with 20 member countries German Water Partnership informs about its objectives and concerns, concepts and projects. You will find the GWP joint booth in hall 5.2 A, stand 110.
The „International Forum“ is organised by GWP and DWA. Its main subject are the international water markets with their problems, projects and programs as well as their challenges and opportunities. GWP takes part in the congress „wat + WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL“ with various lectures. The „Get-together“, at the GWP joint booth on Wednsday, 4 May, 2011, from 17:00 h, will present an informal opportunity to meet and talk.
