Reflecting CIWEM's truly international stance of members in nearly 100 countries, Chris Bosher is based in Hong Kong. Prior to his current role as Senior Project Co-ordinator for Mitsui & Co Ltd, Chris worked in Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Korea and Australia. And Technical Director - Water & Environment (Scotland) for Hyder Consulting, Katherine Bradshaw, is based in Scotland. A member of CIWEM since 1994, Katherine has held a number of senior positions and, at the age of just 32, was promoted to be one of SEPA's youngest team leaders.
Nigel Hendley, a former Chairman of CIWEM's Welsh Branch, is Chairman of Guildford WaterAid Support Group and has managed his own companies providing strategy and management consultancy, interim management, and property services. Dr Norman Lowe OBE has worked as an independent consultant since 2000, mainly relating to the water industry and entomology. He was Chief Scientist at Welsh Water and was awarded CIWEM's Ken Roberts Award for Innovation in 2000 for his work with the British Retail Consortium which led to the Safe Sludge Matrix governing the application of sludge to farmland. In 2001 Norman was awarded the OBE for services to the water industry and to environmental protection.
CIWEM's Executive Director, Nick Reeves, says: "The addition of these new Trustees to the Board shows CIWEM's genuine commitment to tackling global environmental issues. The incredible variety and depth of knowledge that our new Trustees bring to the Institution will help us meet the need for strong leadership in water and environmental affairs."
CIWEM members will be invited to ratify the appointment of these new Trustees at the AGM on 29th September 2010.
