| CIWEM has helped over 1,500 professionals become chartered in the past five years and this success is set to continue. Over the past five years, nearly 500 engineers and scientists, and 1,000 environmentalists, have become chartered through CIWEM. The Science Council praised CIWEM for being "a highly committed and well operated Licensed Body", whilst the Engineering Council endorsed this high opinion by calling CIWEM an "excellent Institution in which the Engineering Council and Science Council Panel has a high level of confidence that standards are being maintained, as are the efforts to ensure continuous improvement of processes."
Rosemary Butler, Director of Membership and Professional Development, said: "These comments are a great accolade for the Institution and reflect our hard work and dedication to our members. External Registration sets professionals apart as it demonstrates a high level of commitment, knowledge and competence, whether it's in engineering, science or the broader environment. CIWEM's membership department works tirelessly so that our members can achieve their full potential and demonstrate their professional standing."
