acqua alta 2009 is the only exhibition and conference event worldwide dedicated to expert exchanges in matters of climate change and protective measures, and the impact of climate change on flood protection and disaster management. It provides a forum for politicians, business experts, academics and experts to discuss the latest developments and strategies in a whole range of issues linked to climate change.
This 3-day event will address the overall problems of climate change and its consequences, from the engineering and environmental viewpoints. The acqua alta range of subjects is enlarged to include the future issues hydro-power and water management. That means acqua alta covers a unique range of topics by using the links to its regular contents.

Columbia Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade |
John Dooley, director of utilities and engineering for the City of Columbia (US), talks about a USD40 million project for the city's Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant. The capacity will increase to 150 million gallons/day (now 80 million gallons), and the pumping facility is to be relocated on the property.
